A high-action, eye-level shot captures four male cross-country runners mid-stride during a race on a sun-dappled grass field. The primary subject, Jacob Manning (bib 249), leads the pack on the left, wearing a bright blue tank top, black shorts, an orange headband, and wraparound sunglasses. Closely following him are three other competitors: one in an orange "Sunbirds" jersey (bib 204), and two runners from the Cal Poly Distance Club in white singlets (bibs 57 and 65). The background is softly blurred, showing a mix of spectators, parked cars, and a white bus under a canopy of green trees. The lighting is bright and clear, casting soft shadows on the vibrant green turf. Photo by @toddsportsphoto

Lake Tahoe Community College

LTCC Athletics needed a website refresh. RealSID took the lead.

The Challenge

Lake Tahoe Community College's athletics website, www.ltccathletics.com, was outdated and did not align with the college's branding. It lacked a strategy for providing timely and consistent coverage, turning it into a liability instead of a recruiting tool.

The Strategy

RealSID led the migration to Presto Sports' 2.0 platform, focusing on both the website update and a sustainable plan for LTCC's continued relevance. RealSID managed:

  • Stakeholder Communication: RealSID acted as the main liaison with Presto Sports during the three-month migration and worked with LTCC's Communications Office to align the new ltccathletics.com with brand standards.

  • Future Strategy: RealSID advised Athletics administration on strategies for maintaining website relevance, including game operations, photography, social media, and coach communication.

  • Consistent Storytelling: RealSID provided weekly recaps for each program, postseason awards, and updated player and coach bios following the competitive season. Furthermore, RealSID created a timing protocol between LTCC's social media accounts (@ltcc_athletics) and ltccathletics.com to drive traffic to the website.

  • Historical Record Keeping: RealSID updated historical content like schedules, rosters, and records to preserve LTCC's history.

The Impact

LTCC Athletics' online presence now aids in recruiting student-athletes. Since the website migration, LTCC Athletics has:

  • Increased website traffic by 20%.

  • Grown social media following by 75%.

  • Used online player bios for marketing student-athletes to universities.

  • Developed a strategy with RealSID to keep the website updated and professional.

  • Established communication with the marketing department and administration, enhancing the Athletics Department's role in student life and campus storytelling.
